Brad’s Birthday Bash in Atlantic City – Laughter, Nightlife & a Whole Lot of Grit

Back in August 2021, Brad and I took a quick weekend getaway to Atlantic City to celebrate his birthday. It was one of those trips that didn’t go exactly how you’d expect — Brad was dealing with a ruptured disc and truly not feeling his best, but we made the absolute most of it.

Sometimes it’s not about perfect timing — it’s about making memories anyway. And that’s exactly what we did.

🏨 Where We Stayed

We stayed at the Tropicana Atlantic City from August 6 to August 8, checking in Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM and checking out Sunday morning at 11:00 AM. The hotel had everything we needed right on site — entertainment, food, and a great location by the boardwalk.

🎀 Comedy & Nightlife

Even with Brad in rough shape, we still managed to catch a comedy show — and it was exactly the kind of laugh we both needed. We also stopped by Kiss Kiss Nightclub, mostly out of curiosity (if you’ve been, you know the vibe is something else!).

It wasn’t a wild party weekend, but it was the kind of low-key fun that sticks with you: good company, quirky venues, and a few surprises along the way.

🌊 Boardwalk & Beach

We took a slow stroll along the beach and boardwalk, which felt great after being cooped up. Brad powered through, and I give him so much credit — even in pain, he showed up with a smile and a sense of humor.

πŸ’¬ The Real Takeaway

This wasn’t your typical high-energy birthday weekend — but it was honest, lighthearted, and full of love. We leaned into the moment, found joy despite the setbacks, and made the best kind of memories: the kind that come from showing up for each other and laughing through the unexpected.

Understanding Property Tax Disbursement From Escrow: What Every Homeowner Should Know

By Katelyn Mayer, Realtor If you’re a homeowner—or thinking about becoming one—understanding how property taxes are paid can save you stress and help you manage your budget better. One of the most common questions I get from clients is: “How does my lender pay my property taxes, and what is this escrow thing all about?” Let’s break it down. What Is an Escrow Account? When you buy a home with a mortgage, your lender often requires an escrow account. This is basically a special savings account that holds money collected each month from you to pay for certain expenses—most commonly, property taxes and homeowners insurance. Instead of paying your tax bill in one lump sum once or twice a year, your lender collects a bit every month and pays the taxing authority on your behalf. This system can make budgeting easier, so you don’t have to worry about coming up with thousands of dollars all at once. How Does It Work? Let’s say your annual property tax bill is $6,000. Your lender wi...
