Greene Township Residents: Fall Disposal & Recycling Programs

As fall approaches, Greene Township residents have several opportunities to properly dispose of bulk items, white goods, tires, and yard waste. Here’s everything you need to know to take advantage of the township’s programs this season.

Landfill Voucher Program – Blue Ridge Landfill
Residents of Greene Township can use the Blue Ridge Landfill at 1660 Orchard Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202, up to six Saturdays per year. Voucher cards are available for free at the Greene Township Office (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM). You’ll need a valid driver’s license to verify your address, and vouchers are available to Greene Township residents only.

Bulk Item Drop-Off
Bulk items can be dropped off Saturdays only, from 7:30 AM – 11:00 AM at Blue Ridge Landfill. Please note that white goods and metals are not accepted through this program.

White Goods & Metals Disposal
Items such as refrigerators, ranges, microwaves, water heaters, freezers, air conditioners, washing machines, and dishwashers can be taken to the Greene Township Composting Facility at 300 Mickey Inn Rd, Chambersburg, PA 17202.

Tires, Batteries & Propane Tanks
A special collection will take place Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Greene Township Office, 1145 Garver Lane, Chambersburg, PA 17202.

  • Residents may bring up to 20 tires.

  • Rims and tires must be separated.

  • There is a $2 charge per tire.

Brush & Leaf Collection
Brush and leaf collections are scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2025, and Monday, November 17, 2025.

Dates are subject to change—please check greene township website (www.greenetwp.org) as we get closer to fall.

These programs make it easy for residents to stay on top of household disposal needs while keeping Greene Township clean and well-maintained.
